Josh Hoey Smashes High School Record in the 800 Meters

Josh Hoey obliterated Robby Andrews’ 2009 high school national record in the 800 meters on Sunday, running 1:47.67 at the Boston University Last Chance Meet.

Hoey, who attends Bishop Shanahan PA, matched the sixth-fastest prep 800 of all-time while running indoors.

No high school athlete had ever broken 1:49 in the 800 meters indoors, let alone 1:48.

Andrews ran 1:49.21 to break the record when he won the National Scholastic title in 2009. DYE STAT
