NEWS RELEASE: World Athletics (track and field) promotes climate change fears, wanting to re-engineer sports

MADISON, Wis., / October 2, 2025 /4 WINDS USA/ — World Athletics president Sebastian Coe and 70% of athletes believe climate change impacts training and competition dates.
Coe says that because of the soaring temperatures and humidity at the recent World Championships in Tokyo, sports need to be “re-engineered”. He believes dates of major competitions should be changed to keep up with the changing climate.
4 WINDS USA President Steve McConkey ministers to Olympic athletes and stands up for Christian athletes. “Correctly, track and field has recently led the way in stopping transgender athletes after years of ignoring the problem,” states McConkey. “However, we need to keep an eye on the radical agendas coming out of Olympic sports. The International Olympic Committee works with the United Nations in implementing Agenda 2030, which also supports various agendas like abortion and climate change. It is good that various sports may set event dates based on possible weather conditions, but climate change is debatable. Everyone knew that Japan could possibly be hot for the World Championships.”
As he ministers to Olympic athletes, Steve stands up worldwide for Christian athletes. For example, he fights against atheists trying to stop Christian activity in sports and opposes those attacking Christian athletes.
In 2003, Steve started fighting against the International Olympic Committee’s transgender policies. He was the only person who stood against this publicly. Steve called various IOC members and was in contact with the USA Olympic Committee. From there, the transgender sports movement spread to high schools, all the way to the Olympics. Steve has fought this agenda every step of the way.
Steve McConkey is the President of 4 WINDS USA, a worldwide sports ministry, mostly in track and field (4WindsUSA.com). Starting in 1981, he has worked through eleven Olympic cycles. Steve shares the gospel, encourages Christians, stands up for Olympic athletes, and gives training advice. He was a USA National Track & Field Club Coach from 1982 through 1992. Steve graduated with honors from Western Kentucky University (Master of Public Health), Minnesota State University (BS-Community Health), and Webster High School (WI). Ministry centers have been in Eugene (OR), Dallas-Fort Worth (TX), Minneapolis-St. Paul (MN), and Madison (WI). Steve was born in Des Moines (IA) and moved to NW Wisconsin after the sixth grade. In recent years, he has had over 400 worldwide radio, article, and TV interviews. Steve is a specialist in Christian apologetics.

Note the paragraph that says the Olympic Committee is an “important enabler” of sustainable development in the UN’s Agenda 2030. This Agenda supports climate change, abortion, and LGBTQ, among other things.
