MADISON, Wis., February 5, 2025 /4 WINDS USA/ — President Trump signed an executive order banning transgender athletes from women’s sports.
Last month, the House of Representatives passed a bill defining sex as “based solely on a person’s reproductive biology and genetics at birth.” The bill opposed transgender athletes, but has not been voted on by the Senate or the President.
Trump just signed the “No Men in Women’s Sports Executive Order.” This will stop transgender athletes from competing in sports. President Biden tried to change Title IX last April to include transgender athletes. Biden pulled his executive order before Christmas as it was unpopular. Steve asked Rasmussen to do the first poll on transgender athletes in 2019. At that time, only 28% favored transgender athletes.
Steve McConkey, President of the sports ministry 4 WINDS USA, has opposed the LGBTQ sports movement since 2003. “Executive orders go from president to president. Laws need to be passed to stop the nonsense permanently,” states McConkey. “We knew that once women athletes started speaking up, the battle would go in our favor. Swimmer Riley Gaines and others were the key. Keep praying and talk to your elected Senators and House members.”
As he ministers to Olympic athletes, Steve stands up worldwide for Christian athletes. For example, he fights against atheists trying to stop Christian activity in sports and opposes those attacking Christian athletes.
In 2003, Steve started fighting against the International Olympic Committee’s transgender policies. He was the only person who stood against this publicly.
From there, the transgender sports movement spread to high schools, all the way to the Olympics. Steve has fought this agenda every step of the way. Eventually, Olympic track and field, swimming, and other sports have stopped transgender athletes. More than half of the states have done the same.
Steve has traveled to Washington DC and various state capitals to stop transgender athletes and the harmful medical practices inflicted on transgender kids. Steve has had over 360 worldwide radio, article, and TV interviews in recent years.
McConkey tried to sue the International Olympic Committee before the 2016 Olympics in Rio. He was concerned that intersex athletes (not transgender) would sweep the women’s 800 meters. That is exactly what happened as they were allowed to have high testosterone levels.
Steve McConkey is the President of 4 WINDS USA, a worldwide sports ministry, mostly in track and field (4WindsUSA.com). Starting in 1981, he has worked through eleven Olympic cycles. Steve shares the gospel, encourages Christians, stands up for athletes, and gives training advice. From 1982 through 1992, he was a successful USA National Track and Field Club Coach. Steve graduated with honors from Western Kentucky University (Master of Public Health), Minnesota State University (BS-Community Health), and Webster High School (WI). Ministry headquarters have been in Eugene (Oregon), Dallas-Fort Worth (Texas), Minneapolis-St. Paul (Minnesota), and Madison (Wisconsin). In recent years, Steve has had over 360 worldwide radio, article, and TV interviews.
